We represented a client charged with sexual touching, an allegation that carries significant legal and personal consequences if proven. The client consistently denied the conduct, and from the outset we conducted a thorough assessment of the evidence, identifying inconsistencies within the complainant’s account and gaps in the prosecution case.
At the defended hearing, we challenged the reliability and accuracy of the evidence through cross-examination and submissions. The Court accepted that the prosecution had not established the allegation beyond reasonable doubt.
At the conclusion of the hearing, the client was found not guilty of the offence and the charge was dismissed.
Outcome: Not guilty. Charge dismissed.
