Passers-by who stopped to help the victims of a two-car crash in the M5 tunnel were rewarded for their generosity with a carjacking by the occupants of one of the vehicles involved in the incident.

The group of men were travelling in an unidentified car in the tunnel near Arncliffe at about 12.30am in the early hours of Saturday morning when their car hit a white Range Rover from behind.

The Range Rover was shunted out of control, then flipped and landed on its roof, injuring the 19-year-old female driver.
